In response to an
article on the wells of low-level keno and leave the casino with
the money up front, I received a note from a reader wanting to
know if there is a keno game that could give a better chance of
winning a prize "decent ".
By "decent" was for a prize such as lottery winnings by hitting
7 of 7 numbers, 8 of 9 numbers, or even smaller prizes such as
"feel good", such as payments for match 6 of the 7 numbers or 7
out of 9.
For a player with a limited budget of a hundred dollars playing
keno four tickets at once, this would translate into a jackpot
of 800 to $ 1,000. The question is good, because as we have seen
in recent months, the awards have reached higher levels and have
become increasingly difficult to catch, and most players
naturally want to leave the casino with more than 40 or 50
percent return of money to his departure.
Upon reflection, I think playing keno ten total numbers, but
trying to hit 8 of 10 numbers, which pays $ 1,000 for matching
these eight numbers, would "save" my game of keno.In theory (ie,
mathematically), this could be a surprise, since the odds of
hitting seven of the eight numbers are lower (6232 to 1) against
the odds of hitting eight of the ten numbers (7384 to 1) , while
the return is higher, $ 1652 for the wisdom of 7 of 8.
Not satisfied with his explanation, I asked an agent of play.
After a couple of hours there was a girl. His response was
basically the same: the casino has the right to publish the pay
scale, provided that it is paying the appropriate percentage. I
explained I was a little strange to win a pot by hitting 8 of 8
October 10 numbers and only paid a couple hundred dollars.
Their reasoning is that the redemption by matching 5 of 8
numbers pay more on other computers, which justifies a lower
prize (and also caused the machine to comply with the
requirement of minimum percentage of recovery).
They've made it clear that I will be compensated for the lower
payment. How would you feel if you hit 7 / 8 or 8 / 8 and expect
a big hole instead of having to settle for few hundred dollars?.
Naturally, I felt horrible and probably terribly stupid not to
check the pay table before you play.
The odds of matching numbers is 8 August from 230,000 to 1, and
the fee is a measly $ 175 pot, a payment of only 350 to 1, is
borderline criminal. Finally, I believe that nobody intends to
beat the odds keno, but also get a different prize in his
reward. |
